If you’re like most people, you have some complaints about your memory.  Perhaps you walked into a room and forgot why you were there, or you can’t think of a name of an acquaintance even though you met her half a dozen times...or you see a movie, and two weeks later you can’t remember the title, or parts of the plot.  It can be a very frustrating experience!

With more than 41 million Americans over the age of 65 in the United States, the question becomes how much (or, perhaps, what type) of memory loss is to be expected as one gets older and what should trigger a visit to the doctor.

On today’s show, we will delve into What’s normal, what’s not, and what to do about it. Our guest is Dr. Andrew Budson, the author of Seven Steps to Managing Your Memory. And he’s here today to help us address key concerns about memory loss. Dr. Budson is a professor of neurology at Boston University, and lecturer of neurology at Harvard Medical school. His career combines education, research, and clinical care for those with memory disorders.

The ketogenic diet is the world's fastest growing diet - and with good reason. When practiced correctly, it burns fat, reduces inflammation, fights cancer, balances hormones and gut bacteria, improves neurological diseases, and even increases lifespan. Unfortunately, many people are still confused about several of the key factors that are crucial to the diet's success... and that sets them up for frustration and failure.

In his new book, Keto Diet, Dr. Josh Axe sets the record straight on how to start a ketogenic diet the right way...for your body and your lifestyle. He joins Kathy to discuss the book and ways to implement the keto diet for yourself!
