Approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. And with each mammogram, most women have a fleeting thought about the possibility of getting a positive diagnosis.

Over the years, there’s been continued controversy about the best ways to detect and treat breast cancer. Breasts represent much more than just a body part - they’re an important symbol of our femininity and sexuality. But, the possibility of receiving a breast cancer diagnosis ignites fears and questions in all of us.

On today’s show we have Dr. Susan Love. She's the author of the enormously popular Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book. Susan’s a distinguished surgeon and her life focus has always been to accelerate breast cancer research and eventually eradicate it. She talks about her experiences with chemotherapy, the current research for preventing and treating breast cancer, and the future.
