We've all heard over and over again that exercise is good for you. We’ve heard that eating vegetables is good for you. We’ve also heard that sleeping more is good for you. Despite all of us knowing these things, there are so many people who haven't shifted their patterns. You see, hearing a message doesn't necessarily inspire somebody to take action. What I’ve found through the years is that if you want to make a new habit, you have to bring a powerful reason for changing. Saying, “I want to lose 10 pounds to look better in my swimsuit” is just not a strong enough incentive or motivation to create long-term change.

Today, we’re speaking with Dr. Sara Gottfried and she’s going to share with us how you can reset your genes, reverse aging, and turn back the clock 10 years. Dr. Gottfried is a Harvard-educated physician. She's a speaker and the author of two New York Times bestselling books, The Hormone Cure and The Hormone Reset Diet.

In my 35 years of being in the health and wellness business, I’ve experienced a lot of strategies for staying healthy and living longer. But none more convincing that what we’re going to be talking about today.

Today’s guest, Professor Valter Longo, is going to talk to us about the latest findings related to FMD - Fasting Mimicking Diets.

It appears that by periodically adopting a diet that mimics the effects of fasting may yield a host of positive effects on aging, organ function, and weight management.

Professor Valter Longo is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on prolongation of lifespan and longevity. His work and discoveries are labelled as some of the greatest achievements in science. He directs a laboratory of twenty researchers at the Andrus Gerontology Center, one of the oldest and leading centers for research on aging and age-related diseases in the country.

For over 20 years, he's been studying the complex mechanisms which control aging. He’s an award-winning researcher, gerontology and biological sciences professor and director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California. You can find out more about Fasting Mimicking Diets at www.l-nutra.com.

It’s a fact, your skin changes as you age. If you’re like most of us, you’ve noticed more wrinkles, age spots, dryness, and sometimes even outbreaks of rashes or spots. According to experts, women are increasingly suffering from a phenomenon called 'sick skin,” which is caused by stressful modern lifestyles, diet, and overuse of cosmetics and skincare products that are packed with chemicals.

Today’s guest, Dr. Trevor Cates, says that your skin is a reflection of what’s happening inside your body. Or as she likes to describe it, “your skin is your magic mirror,” offering clues about your internal health. So if you had a weekend of splurging, perhaps a few too many glasses of wine or a sugar binge, believe me… it’s going to show up on your skin!

In her new book, Clean Skin From Within: A Two Week Program To Glowing, Naturally Youthful Skin, Dr. Cates provides a four-step process to reset your body and achieve radiant skin. She shares some of knowledge with Kathy in today's episode.

Heart disease runs in Kathy’s family. Despite the fact that her father appeared to be in great health, he had a massive heart attack and passed away when Kathy was 17. This life-altering incident changed Kathy and redirected her life towards a keen interest in heart health.

Today’s guest is Dr. Kathy Magliato, one of the few female cardiothoracic surgeons in the world. She is author of the New York Times bestseller Heart Matters, the inspiration for the NBC show Heartbeat, and is a recipient of the Spirit of Humanitarianism award.
