About 20 years ago, I started writing about the 3 F’s of fitness: formal, fun, and functional.  Formal is going to the gym or to a class. Fun is what it sounds like: running on the beach or doing a favorite activity, whether it’s going on a hike or swimming at the pool. And functional is fitting fitness into your everyday life.

When it comes to functional fitness, it’s all about the little itty bitty things you can do each day. I know, you’ve heard it hundreds of times - park further away from the store, catch up with your friends on a walk instead of sitting and chatting on the phone, and of course, take the stairs instead of the escalator!

So finding ways to move more throughout the day is the message and the mission of our next guest, Katy Bowman. She runs www.nutritiousmovement.com. You’re going to want to listen up because Katy has created a new movement vocabulary that is unique and original.

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the lower front of the neck. It makes thyroid hormone which, in turn, goes into the bloodstream. This process creates energy and enhances the activity of just about every function in your body. It determines your mood, your skin and hair health, body temperature, blood sugar levels, hormonal function, and whether you're more likely to gain weight or lose weight. Today's guest is Dr. Izabella Wentz. She is an internationally-acclaimed thyroid specialist and licensed pharmacist. She's dedicated her career to addressing the root causes of why the thyroid can go haywire and just doesn't function properly.

Dr. Wentz is a New York Times Bestselling author. In her new book, Hashimoto's Protocols, she discusses the most common auto immune condition in the United States.

Today, I’m so excited to have on the show a man who needs no introduction...the one and only Dr. Oz. He has won seven Daytime Emmy Awards for “The Dr. Oz Show” and is Professor of Surgery at Columbia University.

On this extraordinary episode, you'll learn:

  • What is the single biggest cause of aging?
  • What is the single most under-appreciated problem in America
  • What you can do on a daily basis can extend your healthspan (that period of life when you're free from disease and you're thriving.)
  • What's the next biggest trend in medicine?
  • Plus... Short on cash? Find out if buying organic produce really worth the extra money?

Recently, Dr. Oz was here in Park City, doing a little skiing, and helping launch the Blair Education Center and the new Park City LiVe Well Center…a beautiful new addition to the Park City Hospital. It really embodies the community’s commitment to preventing disease and promoting well-being.

He’s a true pioneer and champion in personal wellness, and his plan, The Regimen, is a daily checklist that shows you what to eat, what to take, and what to do to improve your health now!

The man has more vitality than the Energizer bunny, and when we spoke recently, he talked about his latest passion, and single most under-appreciated problem in America.
