Today is all about toxins - what they are and and just how they’re derailing your health. The fact is that, at some point today, you’re going to be exposed to toxins. They’re in your personal care products, including cosmetics, they’re in your foods, including food coloring and artificial sweeteners, and they’re even in your common household items, like sealants in cookware and flame retardants in your clothes.

Lucky for us, today’s guest is the toxin guru - Dr. Joseph Pizzorno. He’s one of the world's leading authorities on science-based natural medicine and he’s the founder of Bastyr University...the first fully accredited, university of natural medicine. He has written and co-authored 12 books and publications, including his new book, The Toxin Solution, which is all about how hidden poisons in the air, water, food, and products we use are destroying our health. It also tells us what we can do to fix it.

Today's 30-minute interview will have you driving down the weight loss road in no time... even if you find yourself sitting for most of the day!

On the show today is Siphiwe Baleka, an Olympic hopeful-turned-trucker who started a revolution in the trucking industry. There’s 3.5 million truckers who are responsible for making this country work, but the price they pay is SITTING for hours on end. And, if he can help truckers with their health, then he can help people who are sitting at a desk all day, too.

Siphiwe Baleka is leading a revolution for taking one of the most unhealthy professions in America and putting it on the road to be one of the healthiest. In his new book, 4 Minute Fit: The Metabolism Accelerator for the Time Crunched, Deskbound, and Stressed-Out, Siphiwe details how to achieve better metabolism through only 4 minutes of exercise.

As a Yale grad, Ironman triathlete, Masters swimming champion, and former trucker, Siphiwe is leading the charge for truckers and EVERYBODY who lives a sedentary lifestyle with his 13-week, metabolism spiking program. He’s been featured everywhere from Good Morning America to NPR to Sports Illustrated to Men’s Health.

In this episode, you'll discover...
• What to do if your HORMONES aren't telling your body when you're full

• How to spike your metabolism throughout the day

• Why is the mitochondria so important for weight loss?

• What's the difference between weight loss thinking and fat-loss thinking?

I have to admit: I was a sugar addict. I loved treats. My after-school ritual as a kid was diving into my mom’s drawer of store-bought chocolate cupcakes and cream-filled snack cakes, which started me on the road to a daily treat. I’ve modified my sugar intake throughout the years, as science has revealed that sugar has many negative effects on the body and the brain. But nothing changed my relationship with sugar more than today’s guest, JJ Virgin.

JJ is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Virgin Diet, which topped the charts for over 30 weeks. Years ago, I caught an episode of a television show that JJ was hosting called Freaky Eaters, about people who ate bizarre things - a woman who smothered everything in maple syrup, for example - and as JJ explains, we all have a bit of a freaky eater within us.
